Via Esquire, Rihanna praises Chris Brown’s success

(EUR) – Rihanna dawns the November cover of Esquire and she reveals her joy for her ex-boyfriend’s success.

Yes in the past she probably hated Chris Brown’s very existence, but she confessed that the negativity “was taking up too much of my time.” So she moved on.

“It was too much anger,” the 23-year-old said. “I’m really excited to see the breakthrough he’s had in his career.”

It’s been two years since the pair ended their relationship on a violent note. Now Brown is serving five years probation after pleading guilty to felony assault.

But his career has definitely reached new heights after falling to such a low point.

“F.A.M.E. (Forgiving All My Enemies)” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 albums in March. He’s also reached gold status and has several hits on heavy rotation.

“It’s incredible to see how he pulled out the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know?” Rihanna said. “I really like the music he’s putting out. I’m a fan of his stuff. I’ve always been a fan.”

Esquire named Rihanna the Sexiest Woman Alive for 2011.
