Cyclist dies at Kuru Kururu

The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 0750h yesterday  at Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke/ Linden Highway, and which resulted in the death of pedal cyclist Ronville Roberts, 55 years of Kuru Kururu.

The Guyana Women Miners’ Association (GWMA) was formally launched yesterday and Canadian ambassador David Devine announced that his government will soon embark on technical training with a strong focus on gender equality in the local mining industry.

UG testing to find cause for dead fish on Corentyne

An on-the-spot observation conducted by the Regional Fisheries Officer on dead fish  that washed ashore on the beaches of the Upper Corentyne Coast has revealed that the gills were heavily coated with sling mud and slime and this condition may have resulted in oxygen deprivation to the fish,  resulting in death.
