Corriverton Town Day

This week we spoke to attendees at last weekend’s Corriverton Town Day.

Ganesh Baijnauth

Ganesh Baijnauth- businessman: ‘This is the first time I am here. I came because I heard it does usually be bright and enjoyable. I also expect the people to come and show their support to this event and support the business people. But so far I am enjoying it and persons passing by are supporting me. So far it is good I can’t complain’.

Sherry Jaundoo

Sherry Jaundoo – businesswoman: ‘The crowd here is good but I hope to see more people come out and enjoy themselves. It is my first time here and I think it is going to be really good and the response I am getting is really great but I am hoping that it would be really bright later on the night.’

Trevon Farley -Self Employed ‘It is bright! But the road kind a slow, I expect it to pick up as people come out. This is the first time I am here at the Town Day and I heard it does usually be packed out with people, maybe later on in the night the people will come out. I just hope the people come out and enjoy themselves. I am enjoying it so far though’.

S. Doerga- self-employed:‘This year looks small compared to last year. Last year the place was more

packed out and the people were pouring in around this time (after 6 pm) but maybe later on the people will come and support it. I would be glad if the people turn out and show their support to the business people.’

S. Doerga

Christopher Munroe – self-employed: ‘This year town day is going good so far I can’t complain about it. Well people usually come out late in the night. So it will be brighter definitely and the people would turn out. So all in all this year town day will be a good one because people start coming out in their numbers already’.

Julian Thompson –self-employed: `Well to tell you the truth I do not how to rate this year’s town day. Last one seemed brighter and had a bigger crowd but the place is still kind of early so maybe the people will turn in their numbers and support it. But I am hoping that it will be something good for everybody and  we all enjoy ourselves as we celebrate our town day’.

Dave Bhudial- Chauffeur:‘So far I think this event is good, people coming out and support it. But last

Christopher Munroe

year there were more people on the road but the night is still young, so people will come out and show their support. I do believe though that it should have been more better than this, more exhibitors

coming out and showcasing what they have. I also hope that the residents of Corriverton work in unity and peace so that we have a better town’.

Vishal Tikaram –public sector: ‘I thought it would have been extremely crowded by now. Last year was better if you compare it. Last year there were more booths and people were visiting the booths but this year people are not visiting the booths so much. The response is great so far. I hope it gets better in the night.’

Dhanar Ramnauth – Porter:‘The previous years were better, now it seems as if it is dying. There used to be more booths and I think they should have had that this year. I expected a larger crowd to turn out but who knows maybe when it gets more late people would come out and enjoy their self.  I must say I am happy with this year’s turnout so

far.’

Vishal Tikaram

Narine Singh –Porter:‘This is a very good turnout for this year’s celebration.  I do expect the crowd to get bigger as the night gets old. I think also this is a larger turnout than last year. I also hope that everybody enjoys themselves and nobody causes any fight or problems. But I see there is police all over, so I think they will keep everything under control’.
