The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 0750h yesterday at Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke/ Linden Highway, and which resulted in the death of pedal cyclist Ronville Roberts, 55 years of Kuru Kururu.
Police say that investigations revealed that the driver of motor lorry GLL 319 was proceeding along the Highway, when it is alleged that he reversed the vehicle during which the pedal cyclist was struck down. As a result Roberts suffered injuries and was taken to the GPHC where he was pronounced DOA.
The driver of the motor lorry is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
