At about 0130h today, police say that businessman and licensed firearm holder Patrick De Freitas of Waterloo Street, Georgetown, was aroused by noise on his premises. He went to make checks during which he was confronted by two men armed with a spade and a cutlass.
The police say that the two men attacked De Freitas who discharged rounds from his firearm hitting one of them to his right thigh and the other to his left thigh. The men, police say, have been identified as Steve Anthony, 50 years of Grove Squatting Area, ECD; and as Carlos Grant, 41 years of Charlotte Street, Georgetown.
They are under guard at the GPHC as the investigations continue.
