At about 0830h today, police say that Glendon Cosbert, 47 years, and his wife were walking along an access road at Haslington, ECD, when they were confronted by two men armed with handguns who held them up and took away the jewellery that Cosbert was wearing at the time.
Cosbert put up resistance during the robbery and was shot to his left leg. He is receiving medical attention at the GPHC, police said.
The motor vehicle that the perpetrators reportedly used to escape from the scene was later found abandoned in the Haslington North area, the police added.
