Knives hidden in breasts; T&T women plead guilty

(Trinidad Express) Two women, who were nabbed with switch blades hidden in their breasts while entering Port of Spain early yesterday, pleaded guilty to the offences when they appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrate.

Shineece Prescott and Dinesa Chrysostom stood before Senior Magistrate Cheryl-Ann Blake in the Four A Court when the charges were read to them.

Prescott of Herman Drive, Malabar, Arima and Prescott of Upper El Dorado Road, Tunapuna, entered guilty pleas to the offences and were granted their own bail and ordered to return to court on March 1 for sentencing.

The women were nabbed by officers of the Port of Spain CID in separate incidents shortly after arriving at the City Gate terminal in time for Jouvert celebrations. ACP Raymond Craig supervised the exercise and announced a zero tolerance to law-breakers.

There were several exercises at all the entry and exit points to the capital city early yesterday as revellers arrived in their numbers to partake in J’ouvert celebrations.

Some of the exercises which caused traffic pile-ups for miles, took place along the Beetham Highway, Eastern Main Road, St Ann’s Round-about, Maraval and Morvant.
