Mon Repos stabbing death accused for court today

The suspect in last Thursday’s stabbing to death of an East Coast Demerara (ECD) fisherman over a woman will make his first appearance in court today.

Stabroek News understands that the man will appear at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court.
Richard Sanchara, 31, of Lot 176 Seawall Road, Montrose, was pronounced dead at the Georgetown Public Hospital after receiving multiple stab wounds.

The police had said in statement that the murder occurred around 19:30 hours last Thursday at Mon Repos, ECD.

Police say investigations revealed that Sanchara and another man were involved in an argument over a woman, during which he was stabbed about his body. The woman at the centre of the incident is Sanchara’s ex-wife

The suspect was later arrested.
