Four men charged after Cummings Lodge robberies

Police say that four of the men who were arrested at 4th Field, Cummings Lodge, ECD, following a police response to two armed robberies in the Cummings Lodge area on February 20, 2012, appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore at the Sparendaam Magistrate Court today where they were remanded to prison until April 04, 2012.

The police say the men are Orlando Samuels, 22 years; Ricardo April, 22 years; Quincy Bentick, 22 years; and Jamal Munroe, 17 years. Samuels and April were jointly charged with robbery under arms, committed on Vivian Rookhum and Frederick Cheong. Samuels and Munroe were jointly charged with robbery under arms committed on Mohamed Khan, police said. Samuels was also charged with possession of firearm and ammunition without licence and robbery under arms committed on Savitri Bhola. Bentick and April were charged with robbery with violence committed on Akbar Ali and Amanda Bovell, police said.
