Warrant issued for third accused in theft of chassis

Magistrate Allan Wilson remanded to prison two men accused of simple larceny and a warrant was issued for a third, when the case was yesterday called in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation is that on February 22, Ozia McAulay, Dequan King and Odel Roberts stole two motor vehicle chassis valued $2.5 million; the property of Rakesh Shaw. However, only King and Roberts appeared in court yesterday and an arrest warrant was issued for McAulay.

The court was told that on the said day, Shaw went to his premises at Lamaha Gardens, Bel Air and made checks on the two chassis which were intact at the time.

He made further checks around 7.15 pm on the same day and discovered the items missing.

He reported the matter to the police and investigations led to the arrest of the defendants.

King and Roberts were ordered to appear in court on March 15.
