Boy killed in Front rd accident died of broken neck, autopsy finds

A post-mortem examination performed on three-year-old Carlyle Nashmoe revealed that the lad died from a fractured neck.

Meanwhile, police officials confirmed that up to late yesterday afternoon, the driver of the vehicle that hit the lad was still in police custody.

On Thursday, relatives of Nashmoe said that the driver, who was speeding as he attempted to overtake another drier, fatally hit the child, who was standing on the roadside waiting to cross to participate in Phagwah festivities with his friends.

On impact, the boy was pitched further up the road and hit his head on a piece of wood. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
