(Trinidad Express) A man who left Laventille two years ago because of rising gang violence, was shot dead yesterday after returning to the area to visit his grandparents.
Denzil Stewart, 22, from Valencia, was fatally shot around 2 a.m. yesterday in Straker Village, Laventille.
According to reports when officers arrived at the scene yesterday Stewart was found dead in a track off Straker Village.
Stewart had previously lived in Laventille but moved to Valencia in the wake of rising gang violence. Stewart’s death has pushed the murder toll for this year to 82 according to an Express tally.
