Two jailed over drug offences

Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday sentenced Brian Browne to three years in prison when he appeared before her at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

It is alleged that on January 26 2008 in Georgetown, Browne had in his possession 30 grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.  He was also required to pay a fine of $30,000.

Magistrate Hamilton also sentenced Marcia Semple to three years imprisonment and a $30,000 fine for having in her possession 26 grammes of cannabis. It is alleged that on the 30 June 2010 the accused was found with the illegal substance with the purpose of trafficking it.
