Barbados gov’t gets copy of CLICO report

(Barbados Nation) Government has been issued with an official copy of the controversial forensic audit report into the operations of CLICO International Life (CIL).

In a statement yesterday, CIL’s judicial manager Deloitte Consulting said that in keeping with the directions of the High Court, a copy of the report had been delivered to the Financial Services Commission (FSC).

The statement did not say precisely when the report was issued to the FSC, but it explained that based on a court order, dated February 20, leave was granted to the judicial manager to share the report with the FSC, as well as similar regulatory agencies in the eight other territories in which CIL operates.

These are Anguilla, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St Kitts, St Lucia and St Vincent.

The clear-the-air statement by Deloitte came in response to comments made in the Senate on Monday by the Leader of Government Business Senator Maxine McClean.
