Blackberry larceny accused caught on camera – court told

Kenrick McGowan was placed on $50,000 bail when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court accused of  simple larceny of a Blackberry cellular phone.

McGowan is accused of stealing one Blackberry cellular phone, property of Sonia Seebaran.

It is alleged that last Sunday the woman was at her business place, Faebs Seafood and Restaurant, located at 78 Hadfield Street tending to some customers when she placed her phone on a tray.  Sometime later when she checked for her phone she discovered that it was missing. She then reviewed the security camera footage at  her business and  saw the accused taking her phone.

The matter was reported to the Brickdam Police Station and the defendant was subsequently arrested and charged.

The accused is expected to return to Court Six on May  2.
