A truck filled with 54 sugar workers turned over yesterday morning along the Tain Access Road, Corentyne and 43 of them were taken to the Port Mourant Hospital and some eventually referred to the New Amsterdam Hospital.
The truck, GGG1092 ran off the road and turned over around 5.20 am. The driver said that there was sparking under the dashboard of the lorry and he tried to locate the problem and the lorry dropped into a pothole which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
