School children tour Food for the Poor office

Food for The Poor (FFTP) hosted over 500 nursery and primary school students from Mahaicony and West Coast Berbice as part of the schools observances for Republic Day. In a press release the charity said the students were given a tour of the grounds at its Blue Mountain Road, Festival City location and were allowed to observe operations in the various departments.

Executive Director Leon Davis was also onhand to welcome some of the groups and thanked them for the interest shown in the organisation. He said FFTP will continue to assist schools with furniture, computer training kits, sport gear and any other need. FFTP was also pleased that several overseas donors and representatives from its Miami office here for the inauguration of Mashabo Village earlier in the month, were also at its North Ruimveldt office during one of the school tours.

Some West Coast nursery school students display presents given to them by the Food for the Poor organisation during a school tour at its North Ruimveldt office.
