Agricola burglary accused remanded

Magistrate Sueann Lovell on Friday remanded a man to prison when he appeared before her at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer a charge of burglary.

Christopher Browne of 49 Evans Phillips Park, Agricola, allegedly broke and entered the home of Tamika Nurse on the night of March 15 and removed one Blackberry cellular phone, one wristwatch, one shoulder bag and $11,900 cash, all amounting to a total value of $73,900.

The accused is known to the virtual complainant (VC) since they both reside in the same yard. On the day in question, Nurse secured her home and went to bed. Around 4:00am she woke up and discovered the accused in her house and upon seeing her, he ran away with her shoulder bag containing the items.

The prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that the accused was a flight risk and he would not return to court if he were given his pre-trial liberty. The matter will continue on April 17.
