The Central Corentyne Chamber of Commerce (CCCC) last Thursday commissioned a refurbished pavilion in the compound of the Albion Sports Complex.
According to the president of the organization, the pavilion was not in a pleasant state and the committee in collaboration with GuySuCo, D Balram and Sons and Republic Bank Rose Hall Town thought it best to get it fixed. He said GuySuCo provided the labour needed to change the zinc and damaged wood; the grand stand was also painted to enhance the look.
The Albion Sports Complex is used as a recreational facility where thousands would turn out to witness cricket matches, exhibitions, cultural presentations and other sporting activities. The project was undertaken as a way of giving back to the community.
The total cost of the project was $1.3 million.
In addition to that the community constructed two widescreens at the Rose Hall estate at a cost of $400,000.
