Police say that Leary Fraser, 43 years of Ulverston, Corentyne, today appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Whim Magistrate’s Court on charges of felonious wounding and discharging a loaded firearm with intent. He was remanded to prison.
Police say that the charges resulted from investigations into a matter that occurred at the Hampshire Playfield, Corentyne, on March 24, 2012, where he is alleged to have discharged rounds at Roopnarine Mohabir, 17 years, and his brother Sanjay Mohabir, 20 years, of Williamsburg, Corentyne.
Roopnarine Mohabir was hit to hit right elbow and is a patient at the New Amsterdam Hospital.
