Teen air dashed to city after mining pit cave in

A teen was late yesterday afternoon air dashed to the city for medical attention after he miraculously survived a mining pit cave in at Eye lash backdam earlier in the day.

Stabroek News was told that from all indications Rondell Domingo, 18, Moruca sustained fractures to his arms and hip during the ordeal which occurred around 10 am.

According to reports reaching this newspaper, Domingo was working in the pit when it started caving it. Quick work by his workmates ensured that he was quickly pulled to safety.

He endured a painful drive which lasted for almost three hours to the Matthew’s Ridge Hospital. This newspaper was told that when he arrived he was groaning
in pain and his arms were twisted out
of shape.

Strong pain killers had to be immediately administered to minimize the discomfort after which his injuries were looked at and arrangements were made to transfer him to the Georgetown Hospital for further medical attention.
The official told this newspaper that numerous accidents occur at workplaces in the interior.
