Trio on felonious wounding charge denied bail

Three men who are jointly charged with felonious wounding were denied bail by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

Andrew Batson, 30, Leon Rawlins, 19,  and Kevin Wills, 18,  were charged with the indictable offence of feloniously wounding Damian David on March 31 in Georgetown, with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him and to cause him grievous bodily harm.

The men were asked whether they wished to request  bail and they responded in the affirmative but  Sergeant Gordon Mansfield, prosecuting, objected and cited the medical report provided on the condition of the virtual complainant.

The trio will have to return to court on May 17 for report and fixture.
