Vincent Vandenburg, the man accused of fatally stabbing Edinburgh Housing Scheme, East Bank Berbice labourer Junior Edwards, was arraigned on a murder charge yesterday.
Vandenburg, 26, of LFS Burnham Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice, was charged before Magistrate Rodney Benn at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court and was remanded to prison until May 14th, 2012.
The body of Edwards, a 43-year-old labourer, was found with stab wounds in a yard at Edinburgh on the morning of April 5th, 2012. Edwards lived alone in an abandoned house that belonged to his grandfather. He had lived in the area for two years, worked part-time at a bakery and was said to be a drug user.
