A Goed Fortuin man was yesterday sent on his own recognizance by acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry after he pleaded not guilty to using indecent language and assaulting a peace officer.
Renick Allison of lot 40 Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara, yesterday appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court accused of using a series of expletives in the vicinity of Stabroek Market on Tuesday at around 7:15pm, while being under the influence of alcohol.
According to the particulars of the charge, he is also accused of assaulting Constable Princely Anderson who had cautioned him as a peace officer acting in the execution of his duty. He was then arrested and charged.
Allison is to make his next court appearance on April 26 in Court 10.
