The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 0020h today on the Grove Public Road, EBD, and which resulted in the death of motorcyclist Rodwell Mercurius, 35 years of Friendship, EBD.
Police say that investigations have revealed that Mercurius who was riding his motorcycle was struck down by motor car PFF 1671 which was proceeding in the opposite direction. He was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced DOA.
The driver of the motor car, police say, was tested with the use of the breathalyzer and was found to be over the legal limit in terms of alcohol consumption. He is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
