Scalped man at No.56 still unidentified

The body of a male which was found on Friday last at the foreshore at No. 56 Village, Corentyne with a missing scalp and other injuries remains unidentified.

According to a police press release issued on Saturday, the discovery was made at about 7:40 am. The victim is said to be fair in complexion and about 5’ 7” in height.

He wore a silver ring on the left ring finger and was clad in multi-coloured shorts.

Police Commissioner (ag) Leroy Brumell yesterday told Stabroek News that the body has not yet been identified and that they are trying to determine whether the man is Guyanese or Surinamese.

The body is at the Skeldon Hospital mortuary.

Investigations are in progress.
