Housing ministry condemns vandalism at Parliament Square

The Ministry of Housing and Water condemns recent acts of wanton destruction that seek to retard efforts to enhance and develop Parliament Square, on Brickdam.

In a press release the ministry stated that person or persons have been stealing the newly planted shrubs from the location which is in its beautification phase with the cultivation of plants and shrubbery.

The release added that plans are currently being executed to develop the location, west of the St Stanislaus College, between Brickdam and Hadfield Street (site of the former Bureau of Statistics Building), into an urban park. The Site is known as Parliament Square, in keeping with its proximity to the historic Parliament Buildings.
