More than a week after a man was found with a missing scalp and other injuries at the Number 56 Village, Corentyne foreshore, police are no closer to ascertaining who he is.
Contacted yesterday Crime Chief Seelall Persaud told Stabroek News that the man is yet to be identified. The only information available he said is that the man floated ashore.
Police had said in a press release on April 28 that the man was discovered around 7.40 am. The victim is said to be fair in complexion and about 5’ 7” in height.
He wore a silver ring on the left ring finger and was clad in multi-coloured shorts.
Police Commissioner (ag) Leroy Brumell had told this newspaper that attempts were being made to determine whether the man was Guyanese or Surinamese. Those attempts apparently did not yield any useful information.
The body is at the Skeldon Hospital mortuary.
