A 56-year-old mother of six was early this morning found dead with her clothing disturbed at a shop located at Waikabra, Linden/Soesdyke Highway.
Police suspect that Judy Joseph of Swan, Linden/Soesdyke Highway was raped and murdered. A man is in police custody assisting with investigations.
A post mortem will be conducted later this week to ascertain how exactly she died.
This newspaper was told that when she was found sometime after 4 am her pants and underwear were pulled down.
The woman had been drinking at the shop yesterday and when she left hours later she was intoxicated.
The man who was detained was seen troubling the woman as she left the shop for home.
