Sasenarine ‘Suraj’ Persaud

Persaud’s step-father, Notan ‘Narresh’ Persaud Roopnarine, 42, was heading home when the two men, who were having a weekend barbeque at their Number 70 Public Road residence, approached him and the three began to have a conversation. Roopnarine had said that the men started a heated argument with him and then took him into their yard and started to “beat him up”.

Persaud, who was performing an errand for his mother,  seeing the men beating up his stepfather, approached and tried to intervene. The men allegedly turned on Persaud and fatally wounded him.
The men made their second appearance at the court on Wednesday and were represented by attorney-at-law Mursalene Bacchus.

They were further remanded to prison and will appear at court again on May 29.
