Food and Drug Dep’t recalls eye solution

The Government Analyst Food and Drug Department is recalling Apo-Dorzo-Timop ophthalmic solution manufactured by Apotex Inc, Canada.

In a press release, the Department said the solution contains Dorzlamide HCL 20mg/ml and Timolol 5mg/ml indicated for decreasing pressure in the eye.

Apotex Inc initiated the recall because particulate matter was discovered in the sterile water as a consequence of scheduled maintenance. The affected batch numbers are JR0178, JR6771, JT2042, JZ0669 and JZ9771.

The Department is urging all importers, distributors and consumers who have these products in their possession to submit same to its office at the IAST Building at UG’s Turkeyen Campus.
