T&T parlour owner shot dead

(Trinidad Guardian) A 45-year-old man was shot dead on Wednesday night while sitting behind the counter of his Chaguanas parlour. According to reports, around 11 pm, Clinton Felix of Lendore Village, Enterprise, Chaguanas was sitting in his shop, in front of his home, when he heard a loud bang on the front door. Police said Felix responded and was greeted by two masked gunmen. One of the men drew a firearm and shot Felix several times in the chest. They then drove off in a waiting car. Felix’s wife found her husband lying on the floor clutching his chest. She took him to the Chaguanas Health Facility in the family’s car, but doctors pronounced Felix dead on arrival.

Up to late yesterday investigators said they were yet to establish a motive for the murder, but had ruled out robbery, since no items were found to be missing from the parlour. Felix was not known to police as being involved in criminal activities.  An autopsy was done yesterday on his body at the Forensic Sciences Centre in St James.  The murder toll stood at 167 up to late yesterday, as compared to 161 for the corresponding period last year.
