The Police are urging anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Jaundoo to make contact with the nearest police station.

On April 28, the body of Majid was found with his scalp missing and other injuries at the Number 56 Village, Corentyne foreshore. Police had said in a press release that the man was discovered around 7.40 am.

The victim wore a silver ring on the left ring finger and was clad in multi-coloured shorts.

For weeks the body remained unidentified. At one point, the police thought he was a foreigner who had washed up from Suriname.

A brother of Majid subsequently travelled to Guyana from the US as he suspected the body to be that of his brother. His worst fears were later confirmed.

Police later charged Majid’s wife, Hemwattie Abdulla and an alleged accomplice, Surojinie Tirmaul of Chesney Village, Corentyne, with his murder. On May 22 they appeared at the Springlands Magistrate’s Court to hear the charge read to them.

Investigators believe that two men were hired to kill Majid.

A senior police officer had told Stabroek News that Majid and his wife visited Guyana in April and they had rented a car which was taking them around.

The last time Majid was seen alive was at a Corentyne beach and investigators believe that this was where he was killed by the men.

The wife, the officer said, returned to the US after reportedly telling the man’s relatives that he had gone to Suriname for a visit.

The rented car was returned to its owner by a relative of the woman. Majid was never seen alive again.

Majid, reports said, had returned to Guyana on holiday after being awarded a huge insurance settlement.
