(Trinidad Express) The Jamaica Gleaner online edition reported last night that a body believed to be of Michelle Coudray-Greaves had been found yesterday afternoon, burnt beyond recognition.
The discovery was made in a cane field on the outskirts of Montego Bay in western Jamaica, the Gleaner said.
A positive identification was made by friends of Coudray-Greaves, using her dental braces and a bracelet on her hand, the report stated.
Coudray’s mother, Marlene Coudray, the Mayor of San Fernando, and deputy political leader of the United National Congress (UNC), was said to be distraught last night on learning of her daughter’s death.
Friends and family were at her Ste Madeleine Circular Road home last night along with politicians, including Local Government Minister Chandresh Sharma.
Sharma said, “The loss of a loved one is very painful. The Government of Trinidad and Tobago will offer any assistance.”
Coudray and her companion Larry Achong are to travel to Jamaica today.
The Gleaner reported last night that Coudray-Greaves, who lived at Cornwall Courts, in Montego Bay, recently completed a period of temporary employment as a teacher at Cornwall College and was negotiating with the school to fill another vacancy in September.
The Gleaner reported that her landlady last saw her on Thursday when she visited her to pay outstanding bills. But she said while they were talking Coudray-Greaves got a telephone call and left.
She was reportedly next spotted early on Friday at Cornwall College, where she had gone to volunteer to help a group of students to prepare for a final exam.
