Woman charged with falsifying passport application

A woman accused of falsifying her passport application was on Wednesday placed on $85,000 bail when she appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.

The allegation against Chandrawattie Bagwandin is that on June 12, at the Central Immigration and Passport Office, she made a false statement by signing to a written document that she was never the holder of a passport, knowing same to be false.

Bagwandin pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to her at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The case was transferred to Court Ten for June 26.
