Jamaica gunmen kill two, injure two

(Jamaica Observer) Four people were yesterday shot, two fatally, by gunmen at a house on Sunrise Crescent in Kingston.

The dead were identified as Denver Lions, otherwise called Denver Pink, 38, and Latisha Rich, also known as ‘Browning’, 23. The injured were taken to hospital where they were admitted in serious condition.

Police said they were alerted by neighbours who were awakened by the sounds of gunshots about 4:40 in the morning. However, up to last night detectives were unable to say what was the motive for the deadly attack.

“I really don’t know what could have led to the shooting incident. All I know [that is] I was at home and I heard the shots,” said one woman from the area.

In another shooting incident in the capital city, 40-year-old Michael Thompson, an employee of Hardware and Lumber, was shot dead outside the businessplace on Slipe Road.

A release from the company said Thompson, who was a lumber associate, arrived at work, went inside the store to put his bag down, then went out to the gate of the establishment, at which time he was shot.
