Linden resident remanded on cocaine and ganja trafficking charges

A 35-year-old Linden resident accused of cocaine and cannabis trafficking was yesterday remanded to prison after appearing before Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation against William Burnette is that on July 21 at McKenzie, Linden he had in his possession 93 grammes of cannabis and three grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

The 30 First Street, Silvertown, Wismar, Linden resident denied the narcotics trafficking charges when they were read to him.

No facts of what transpired on the day in question were presented to the court.

The unrepresented Burnette was informed that he would be remanded to prison.

His matter was transferred to the Christianburg Magistrates’ Court for August 22.
