Muslims urged to fast, give charity for Ramadan

Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) president Al-Hajj Fazeel Ferouz is urging Muslims to make full use of the month of Ramadan to fast and give charity in order to earn Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.

“Let us use our time in Ramadan, to study the life, the mission and the achievements of the greatest benefactor of humanity, our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW),” he said, according to a press release from the CIOG.

Muslims are also encouraged to fast and do charitable works and utilise the opportunity “to pay our zakaat” as blessings are multiplied tremendously during Ramadan. “Let us rededicate our lives to prayer and righteous deeds to make our homes, our community and country a better place for all Guyanese,” Ferouz added.
