Dying T&T money lender shouts shooter’s name

(Trinidad Express) Money lender Kevon Mark was shot multiple times in the back and left to die in a dirt track in Rio Claro on Saturday.
But the bleeding man dragged himself to the roadside and shouted out his killer’s name.
The incident occurred around 5.45 p.m.
Mark, 26, was taken to the Rio Claro Health Centre, where he was pronounced dead.
He was shot 17 times in the back, police said.
Mark, of King Street, Princes Town, went with a friend to collect money in Rio Claro. Police were searching for his friend last evening.
Investigators have ruled out robbery as the motive, as $80,000 was found in Mark’s pocket.
His uncle, Norman West, said, “He come and spend the whole day here. I begged him not to go, but he said he had some money to collect.”
Mark was the father of three—ages six, two and one.
West said his nephew was a good man, who tried his best to help others.
Homicide detectives are continuing investigations.
