Clothes vendor denies making threats

A clothes vendor was yesterday put on bail after denying charges of threatening behaviour and abusive language.

It was alleged that on August 9, in Georgetown, Horace Roach, 56, threatened and used abusive language to Macsood Puran.

Roach appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton and his lawyer, George Thomas, stated that the altercation between the two happened in Roach’s yard.

Thomas added that his client did not pose a flight risk nor had he had any pending matter in the Magistrates’ Court prior to the case and therefore he sought bail.

Prosecutor Simone Payne then stated that the prosecution had no objections to bail.

Magistrate Octive-Hamilton then placed Roach on $25,000 bail and the matter was transferred to Court 1 for September 24.
