Huckster wounded fellow Brickdam detainee -court hears

A huckster, who is accused of unlawfully wounding another man at the Brickdam Police Station, while they were both in custody, was yesterday denied bail by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.

It is alleged that Kevin Rodney, 19, of lot 6 ‘A’ Water Street, Georgetown, unlawfully and maliciously wounding Neil Abrams, causing him bodily harm.

Rodney, who was charged at the Georgetown Magistrates Court, pleaded not guilty.

Prosecution stated that Rodney was in custody at the time in the Brickdam Police Station on an armed robbery charge and that he wounded Abrams.

The prosecution objected to bail because Rodney already has a pending matter in the courts.

Magistrate Octive-Hamilton then denied bail for the accused. The matter was then transferred to Court One for October 2.
