PNCR mourns WWII vet Hector Bunyan

The PNCR has pointed to Hector Bunyan’s distinguished service in WW II, as it mourned his passing on August 26 last.

In a press release, the party said Hector Joseph Stanley Bunyan was born on August 28, 1922. A distinguished veteran of World War II; he enlisted in 1943 and trained as an artilleryman. Bunyan served in the British Guiana Contingent of the South Caribbean Forces.

After demobilisation, he worked as a newspaper and court reporter in the British Guiana Public Service. He also served as president of the Guyana Legion in 2007.

The party extended condolences to his relatives.
