Carib Feedback Productions is premiering its play The Golden Scheme at the Buxton Tipperary Hall on Saturday.
According to a press release, the play is written and directed by playwright, director and producer Ras Leon Saul and produced by Carib Feedback Productions. The Golden Scheme, which has been entered in the National Drama Festival 2012, will continue its run on Saturday, September 16 and Sunday September 23 at the Aracari Resort. It will then be judged on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7 at the National Cultural Centre.
The storyline for the “musically-infused, humorous play” is about teenager Hope Banigan’s dream to become a singer and find her roots while her father dreams of building a “green” hemp car. An international gangster then kidnaps Hope in an effort to get the patent for the car and her music producer engineers a plan to save the girl.
The play stars Melika Edmonds, Max Massiah, Mark Kazim and Kwasi Edmondson along with supporting cast members: Gerard Gilkes, Sean Thompson, Colleen Humphrey, Jennifer Langevine, Harriet Simmons and international reggae recording and performing artist “Killa” Milla. Admission costs $1,000 for adults and $500 for children. Part proceeds will go to the Alpha Children’s Home in New Amsterdam.
The play has been sponsored by Ansa McAl, First World Symmetry and Health Care Products, Trinity Grid Holdings, the City Mall, the People’s Pawn Shop, Caribbean Cargo and Package Services Inc, Swiss House and Waterchris Restaurant and Bar.
