-body had suspected chop wounds
The dead body of miner Ramprakash Deonarine was found with suspected chop wounds at Tumatumari, Potaro on Thursday morning.
Police said that they are investigating the death of Deonarine, 53, whose body was found around 6 am on Thursday morning.
Reports from the area are that the man and several persons with whom he worked ventured out of the mining camp on Wednesday night. The man, who hails from the East Coast of Demerara on the coastland, was involved in an argument with another work mate, persons at Mahdia reported yesterday and they noted that the he was killed later that night.
Reports are that the police ventured into Tumatumari on Thursday to investigate the man’s death but it is unclear whether anyone was arrested in connection with the incident.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, the police stated.
