C-point retailer granted bail over assault

A C-point retailer who allegedly assaulted a woman who owed her money was yesterday released on $10,000 bail after she appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Judy Latchman.

Sabrina Singh, 31, a mother of five children, was charged with unlawfully assaulting Akeisha Glasgow on November 7, at the Timehri bus park.

Appearing before Magistrate Latchman, Singh pleaded not guilty, explaining that she had approached Glasgow for her money and when the woman refused to comply they got into a scramble. She said Glasgow told her “I ain’t get non fa gie you right now,” and then they started to quarrel.

After listening to Singh, Magistrate Latchman granted her bail and instructed her to appear in Court 10 on November 20.
