A woman was released on self bail over the unlawful assault of another woman when she appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry in Court 1 at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Shonette Adams, of 38 Alexander Street, was charged with unlawfully assaulting Judy Trotman on November 12.
Attorney-at-law Paul Fung-a-Fat, who represented Adams, said that she was in jail during the time of the assaul and questioned how she could be responsible. He added that his client was at a funeral when she was apprehended by police.
No particulars about the case were discussed.
Adams was placed on a bond to keep the peace. The matter will continue on December 14 in Court 1.
