(Video) Banks unveils ‘New Frontiers’ Mash band

Under the theme ‘New Frontiers’, Banks DIH Ltd yesterday launched its costume band for Mashramani 2013, which it said would be 300 strong and costumes would be provided free to the public from as early as January.

The event, which got off to late start saw the absence of Minister of Culture Frank Anthony, who sent his apologies.

The costumes, designed by Olympia Small-Sonaram, were yesterday revealed to the public at the Banks DIH Ltd Thirst Park headquarters, in front officials and members of the public.

Dressed in their bright red and gold attire, 16 models gyrated to both local and Caribbean music of the carnival genre, providing a sneak peek at the ‘New Frontiers’ band.

The designer related to Stabroek News that the costumes were designed to depict pirates and sailors and display the label colours, red and gold.
