Webster presents items to old folks homes

Minister of Human Services and Social Security Jennifer Webster yesterday made presentations of items to three elderly homes – Uncle Eddie’s Home, Tucville; Archer’s Home, D’ Urban Street and the Gentlewomen’s Home, Brickdam.

The minister said she tries on an annual basis

to assist the homes since they are in dire need. She donated a washing machine and a food hamper to the Uncle Eddie’s Home, where paint work is also currently being done in the laundry room. She estimated the value of the donation to be around half of a million dollars. She also stated that she has currently undertaken some grillwork at the Archer’s Home, since the home had been robbed by gunmen. She said the elders’ money was stolen, but the ministry replaced it.
