T&T pupil’s head flushed in toilet

(Trinidad Express) Police intend to consult the Director of Public Prosecutions in their probe against an official of Blackman’s Private School accused of plunging the head of an eight-year-old pupil in a toilet bowl and flushing it.

The suspect was interviewed by St Clair police on Wednesday where she reportedly admitted to the act as a form of discipline.

The incident reportedly took place shortly after midday on Tuesday at the school.

Police reports state that standard three pupil Kaya Rullow was playing with another pupil of the school near the toilet area when the school official intervened.

Investigators said the woman held the boy and placed his head in the toilet bowl before flushing it.

According to the police report, the pupil was then made to stand outside his classroom for several hours before the arrival of his father.

The child’s father subsequently took the boy to the St Clair Police Station where a report was made.

The school official has reportedly apologised for her action, but the child’s father said he was considering taking legal action against the school, police said.

Corporal Ferrette, who is leading the investigation, has already recorded a statement from the suspect and also secured a medical report on the boy’s condition from the Port of Spain General Hospital where the pupil was sent for observation.
