Kidnapped T&T soldier, found dead in Laventille

(Trinidad Guardian) Police on Thursday night found the body of kidnapped soldier Nigel Sinaswee, 40, of Roystonia Gardens, Couva. The body was found at Green Acres, Pelican Extension, Laventille. Detectives probing the killing believe his  abduction on Wednesday was linked to a domestic dispute relating to ownership of a house. Homicide officers under Supt Wayne Boyd, acting ASP Sahadeo Singh and Insp Ajith Persad were leading investigations last night. Senior Defence Force officers were also on the scene Thursday night.

Nigel Sinaswee

According to reports, Sinaswee was abducted by two men while in the company of his common-law wife, Christina Legendre. Police said Sinaswee and Legendre were sitting in their car parked on Connector Road, Chaguanas, when, around 11 pm, two cars approached, blocking them from driving off. Two men emerged from one vehicle and approached Sinaswee, dragging him out of his car. He was bundled into a Nissan Sentra B-12.

The other car was reported to be a black Nissan 323. The woman went to the Chaguanas Police Station where she reported the matter. Corporal Nelson of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigation Department is continuing investigations.
